Easy Rider Canoe and Kayak Company built kayaks in Seattle Washington for over 35 years. Peter Kaupat, the owner and designer, earned his engineering degree in Germany. Peter retired in 2018 at the age of 85. Easy Rider expedition grade kayaks were built with a heavy duty Kevlar / graphite laminate making it a best choice for ruggedness at a relatively light weight. For sale is the Easy Rider 15’ Eskimo model. It is a take-a-part model which comes in three sections each with its own bulkhead, so when it is bolted together, it is stronger than comparable single hull kayaks. Each section bolts with 8 or 9 stainless-steel bolts, washers, lock washers, and knobs. The bow and stern sections can both be used as watertight gear storage areas.
While built in 2005 this kayak has seen less than a dozen water adventures and has been sheltered otherwise. It is in very good condition with no leaks and only a few cosmetic scratches and edge chips. Included are: a set of travel bags for each section, a 4.5’ outrigger with two 7” poles, a rudder controlled with adjustable foot pedals, and a spray guard for the cockpit.
